Jimmy Z. Zhang, Ph.D., MBA | Vice President, Transactions, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Asia Pacific


Jimmy is Vice President of Transactions at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Asia Pacific. Previously, Jimmy was the Managing Director, MSD Early Investments - Greater China at Merck & Co. He was responsible for Merck's venture capital investments, licensing, acquisitions, external research collaboration, and alliance/partnership management in Greater China. Jimmy was also a Senior Vice President at Synergenics, LLC, a professional service and venture firm. Synergenics invests and manages early-stage companies in drug discovery, vaccine, diagnostics, and healthcare IT. Jimmy was previously a consultant at McKinsey & Company, a registered patent agent in the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster, and a project manager at Chiron Corporation (now part of Novartis). Jimmy received his BS in biochemistry from Nanjing University, and PhD in biomedical sciences from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He received his MBA at MIT Sloan School of Management.
